The books start out with a map of the neighborhood with labels so kids can see who works where. In the back of the books, there are questions from real workers about their jobs. also tips, tools used and other helpful information.

The Pirate of Kindergarten by George Ella Lyon Illustrated by Lynne Avril  Ginny is seeing double! That is not good. She tries to solve her vision problem with an eyepatch and declares herself a pirate. Great book to promote problem solving. Vibrant pictures with a lot to discuss with preschoolers.

Armadillo Antics

 Armadillo Antics by Bill Martin Jr. and Michael Sampson illustrated by Nathalie Beauvois If you  and your grandkids loved Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See? and Chicka Chicka, Boom Boom, you will love this book also. Armadillo Antics has the rhyming phrases that are easy for little ones to follow along. We all enjoyed the armadillo facts at the end of the book. I now know that the armadillo has two major enemies- dogs and car; and that the armadillo can run ten miles per hour. A Must Read!

 A Seed Grows by Antoinette Porter A beautifully illustrated book with bold colors showing the life cycle of a seed becoming a sunflower. The book has a short glossary in the back explaining such things as parts of a seed, parts of a sunflower plant and what the seed needs to sprout.
