The author, Rosemary Wells, tells a family story she read from her great grandmother's 100 year old journal. It tells the story of her great great grandfather who made a rocking chair with the word Welcome carved on it. The chair came to represent all were welcome in America whether fleeing form religious persecution, natural disasters or war. The chair welcome all with openness, hospitality, and acceptance. 40 pages of text with pictures.
